Our Louisiana State tree is perfect for ponds, wet areas and bulkheads. It is a
major deciduous conifer of our region and grows to an average height of 50’ and a
width of 25’. It has great fall color, good wind resistance for hurricanes and wind
breaks in mass plantings and a great ability to grow in wet or dry soils. The only
nuisance of this Louisiana staple are the “knees” that grow in wet soils for stabilization.
